Standard Six

Standard Six encourages educators to continue to improve their skills and knowledge. A teacher should use professional resources to take responsibility for one’s own development and teaching. One should ensure they are kept up to date with changing technology and curriculum changes. Feedback and guidance should be consistently revisited to improve future education (AITSL, 2014).

Feedback from EPT218 Supervising Teacher:

Brendan has a clear understanding of the role of the National Professional Standards for Teachers in identifying professional learning needs.  He is aware of the relevant and appropriate sources of professional learning for teachers. Brendan spend a curriculum day planning and organising resources for his lessons.  Brendan was always on the look out for resources to support the lessons the class was engaging in.
Brendan always looked for feedback in relation to his lesson and was very open to receiving constructive feedback and using this to modify his lessons.  Brendan engaged in feedback and advice from all teachers and school support members.
